Senior Fermentation and Formulation Manager

Aumaya leads our fermentation and formulation development, driving innovation in microbial product delivery while ensuring robust, scalable and cost-effective production processes. She brings over a decade of experience in bioprocess engineering, with deep expertise in fermentation scale-up, process optimisation and technology transfer across research, pilot and commercial production environments..

Aumaya has dedicated her career to developing sustainable solutions through innovative process design and cross-functional collaboration. Prior to joining FA Bio, she led the Process Development and Technology Transfer team at Algenuity, where she was instrumental in scaling up fermentation processes to commercial levels and overseeing successful technology transfers to CDMOs and CMOs. She also played a key role in launching new bioproducts using agile project management frameworks and was the Product Owner for the MAPRO project in partnership with Unilever.

Aumaya’s work spans both academic and industrial sectors, including postdoctoral research on microalgae for sustainable food and feed applications, and a collaboration with Sun Bear Biofuture at UCL Biochemical Engineering to optimise yeast fermentation for oil production.

Aumaya has a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering and Applied Biotechnology from the University of Nantes, as well as a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Applied Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Lebanese University.
