Deena is an experienced molecular microbiologist with a diverse set of skills in isolation and characterisation of zinc solubilising plant-associated bacteria and molecular cloning. She has a deep understanding of amplifying DNA sequences for microbial identification, DNA quantification, molecular cloning, and analysis for the detection and observation of plant pathogens. Deena has an important role of leveraging FA Bio’s microbial library to help innovate and improve agricultural practices.
Deena has previously held research roles at Rothamsted Research and D.A.V College Nepal. Her role at Rothamsted was in the Molecular Microbial Ecology Group where she conducted studies on the wheat root colonisation of the ACC deaminase producing plant-associated bacteria Pseudomonas under no stress and saline conditions. Prior to this, she was part of the research team at D.A.V. College who conducted microbiological analysis of ground water in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.
Deena has a Master’s degree in Medical Microbiology with placement year from the University of Hertfordshire and a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the D.A.V. College of Science and Humanities in Nepal.
